Alex Cross

Biography
Alex is from Edmonton and is pursuing a BSc (Specialization) in Chemistry at the University of Alberta. His interest in physical chemistry and organic molecules began during a DAAD RISE Germany internship in Berlin. Since then, he has focused on computational modeling for the design of organic optical materials. He recently completed a course-based research project in collaboration with Prof. Rik Tykwinski, investigating acene chromophores for photovoltaic singlet fission, and is currently developing machine learning methods for molecular property prediction. Away from the desk, Alex enjoys running in the river valley, rock climbing, and eating good food.
